Consultations are usually held in my home in Didsbury, South Manchester, although if you’d prefer a consultation in your own home, please do get in touch.
I want you consultation to feel relaxed, friendly and personal, while giving you both a real understanding of your colours and the confidence to choose and wear them.
The consultations last approximately 2-3 hours in total. Once settled with some light refreshments, we’ll start by chatting through each of your natural colourings, including natural hair colourings, how each of your skins react to the sun and whether you tan or freckle. This helps me build a picture of your colourings before we begin exploring whether your undertones are cool (Summer and Winter) or warm (Spring and Autumn).
Next, you’ll both complete a short five-minute questionnaire, which gives insight into your personality and preferences. This is an important process, as colour is not only visual - it’s deeply personal. Some people are drawn to bold, vibrant shades, while others feel more comfortable in softer, muted tones. This helps ensure your final palette is truly reflective of your unique individual personality and style.
Then the fun bit – the colour draping. Working with you one at a time, with make-up removed, hair tied back and earrings taken out if needed, I’ll begin with a white drape to create a neutral starting point. We’ll then work through the main primary and secondary colours, comparing four carefully selected drapes, one representing each of the four seasons.
This is where you’ll both really start to see the difference colour can make. Together, we’ll look at how your skin react to each drape, noticing which colours make your complexion appear brighter, smoother and more even, eyes clearer and features more defined, and which colours simply don’t do quite as much for you.
Bringing everything we’ve discovered together, I’ll then be able to determine your primary seasons, and sub seasons. From there, we will explore both of your full seasonal colour palettes in more detail, to see which colours you are naturally drawn too and really bring out the very best in you.
It may be that not all the factors indicate to the same Season. If so, we can discuss a Secondary Season, which may be that additional colours can be worn (away from the face) to bring harmony.
Again individually, we will also look at the make-up shades and jewellery metals that will work best with your skin tone, bringing out the best in your features.
At the end of the consultation, you will both receive a free mini fabric colour wallet featuring your seasonal colours, making it easy to choose the right colours when shopping for clothes and accessories.
You’ll both receive a follow-up email within 24 hours of your consultation, summarising everything we covered together and giving you the chance to ask any questions that may come to mind.
